Master plan and village cluster design for a nine village town system for a population of 70,000. Thisrecreational and destination housing project, located on the Cochiti Indian Reservation in New Mexico included detailed design of an ethnic housing village center with artisan studios, retail shops and commercial buildings. The client wanted a low-cost, native Indian housing village of 250 units at three locations and a weekend destination resort village with 400 units and access to Cochiti Lake. The project was to be constructed of local materials in a contextual style using adobe, vegas, logs and stone with indigenous ground forms and plantings.
